Need redirect https request

The URL Redirect feature of SafeSquidâ„¢ is a very popular feature and should be used with some imagination and logic to get the best results.

Hi
A redirect rule llike

Enabled true
URL https://(.*)
Redirect http://xx--https.$1
302 redirect true
Options encode,decodebefore,decodeafter
Applies to url

should have done the trick... which could have made https virus scannig
a very easy task....
But the above rule does not work, as it this happens to be a secure connection , though regular expression is logical
you can check that same expression works if it was ftp instead of https
in URL field....
i.e you could have redirected ftp requests to http like

Enabled true
URL ftp://(.*)
Redirect http://xx--profiles.$1
302 redirect true
Options encode,decodebefore,decodeafter
Applies to url

Well https requests bind to port 443 by default...
So kindly block https request as mentioned here,

This is under Profiles

Option - Value
Enabled - true
Port range list - 443
Time match mode - absolutetime
Added profiles - blockhttps

Add this under URL Filter Deny Section..mind you set the global policy as Allow...

Option - Value
Enabled - true
Profiles - blockhttps
Template - blocktemp

And this finally is for the Templates Section

Option - Value
Enabled - true
Profiles - blockhttps
Name - blocktemp
File - blocktemp.html
Mime type - text/html
Response code - 404
Type - file
Parsable - true

I assume u know handling templates...
Hmm...anywayz,

Create an html page with blocktemp name and place it in some folder and then specify the template path under the Templates Section..

Hmmm, well thts for throwing a template when an https request is made.. mayb if tht works for u...

Thanx...

Anyone manage to redirect https://url to http://xx--https.url ?

This is for virus scanning to work on https connection.

Thanks for any update !

Hi

It would not be possible to Redirect HTTPS requests using URL redirect
rules ....

URL redirect is valid only for http requests

So the only option for using virus scanning for https connections would be to make use of url command https manually ( When you suspect a virus infection with an https Request which would be very rare )
