How to limit # requests per day

Postby barryetter » Fri Jun 01, 2012 5:16 pm

I want to limit the amount of time my children use the Internet, and I figured that I could go by # requests to achieve this. But it doesn't appear to be working.

In Limits, I have this:
Enabled true
Action allow
Hour range 0,23
Download transfer limit 0
Upload transfer limit 0
Request limit 5000
Download rate 0
Time match mode absolutetime

But for yesterday, for example, the SARG report shows:
USERID: anonymous@
BYTES: 823.29M

I think this means that IP .116 had 7,520 requests, correct? My limit should have kicked in at 5,000.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a better way to limit total usage?

Thanks for a great product?

Hello ,

In limits section Request limit is The number of requests that would be allowed during the specified time its not amount of download in bytes .

To specific the amount of download in bytes or MB you have to specify in Download transfer limit .
