ldap configuration

Postby celusil » Fri Jul 29, 2011 7:16 pm

Maybe I'm trying the wrong thing but I would like to integrate with Windows AD
I've tried all permutation of the ldap config I could think of Here is the ldap section of the config.xml file

ldap>
<enabled>true</enabled>
- <ldapsection>
<enabled>true</enabled>
<comment>test</comment>
<ldaphost />
<ldapip>10.0.0.17</ldapip>
<ldapport>389</ldapport>
<ldapssl>false</ldapssl>
<ldapmethod>SIMPLE_LDAP_AUTH</ldapmethod>
<ldaplimit>1024</ldaplimit>
<ldapcustomfilter />
<ldapusername>randyb@summitindustries.net</ldapusername>
<ldappassword>362b263e0d341604080c11</ldappassword>
<ldapbasedn />
<ldaploginattr>randyb</ldaploginattr>
<groupid />
</ldapsection>
</ldap>

any ideas why I'm not working? I'm sure it's something simple that I'm missing

I noticed I didn't have base set
set that to dc=(domain), dc=com

still doesn't work

fixed by Rahul in online chat
I didn't realize that the login attribute wasn't refering to a specific login attribute
it wanted the exact words
sAMAaccountname

changed that and it works, however I can't seem to find or use AD security groups

anyone know about those?

Hello,

Once your AD / LDAP is configured, you can define user/group/Security group access from Access Restrictions section in the SafeSquid Interface.

Go to Config > Access Restriction

To allow access to Security Group, click on Add under Allow subsection, and create a rule as shown in the figure "ScreenShot004" Last Rule.

Note that you need to enable System Authentication.
