Proble with transparent proxy

Postby floedu » Fri Sep 23, 2005 5:05 am

I'm using safesquid win32 2.0.1 free version. I didn't modify the config file.
The test machine has winXp with IE and is linked directly to the server through a cross over cable.
When I try to test the connection it doesn't work properly. I can see web pages only if I use a proxy in lan settings (something like this myproxy_ip:8080). I read the config file and I saw that the transparent proxy option is checked for every user. I don't know what to do. If there are some other things that I have to modify in the config file, please tell me.

hello
In windows safesquid edition you cannot use transparent proxying ;
Since For tranasparent proxying to work You will need IPtable redirection rules that can only work on linux box;

Hello
From your config.xml , conifgurations seems alright .. (which are default ) except that you are forwarding to another parent proxy...and disabled caching in safesquid..
You can disable clamav section if you are not using the same
Would you let us know do you face the same problem if you are connecting safesquid directly....to internet
and what is the memory usage with caching enabled in safesquid..?
Also Would you try enabling CARP in Forwarding section and let us know it helps in reducing Memory usage;
