Block specific HTTPS website

The URL Redirect feature of SafeSquidâ„¢ is a very popular feature and should be used with some imagination and logic to get the best results.

Block specific HTTPS website

Hey,

I configured the iptables on Ubuntu with the following rule:

iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i eth0 -p tcp --dport http -j REDIRECT --to-port 8080

I blocked the domain facebook.com by selecting its category to be blocked on safesquid and it blocks requests on http://www.facebook.com as well on https://www.facebook.com when I configure the browser to use the proxy server.

However in transparent proxy, safesquid only blocks requests on http://www.facebook.com allowing on https://www.facebook.com

What can I do to make this work on transparent proxy?

You can not transparently redirect HTTPS connections.
You will have to allow them direct access.

For setting up transparent proxy, see -
